It’s so frustrating especially when you’re in the midst of preparing an important document or you could be replying to a business enquiry. You wouldn’t want your email to be all in small caps or big caps (caps lock is working, though). As this can deemed to be very rude, especially if you need to address the receiver by  his or her name.

You know what I mean?

Big caps – you’re shouting.

Small caps – disrespectful.

I tried the most common solution of removing the ‘sticky key’ option as this is often the guiltiest culprit. But no!

Often, the correct answer is always the simplest…

Just hold down both of the [SHIFT] keys and count to 10.

Voila! Problem Solved!

It was not easy to find a solution, even at the WordPress forum

Thanks to Techie Corner I found a simple solution. Apparently, 1 simple line codes were missing in the wp-config.php. Apparently, this is a sporadic problem which had happened in version 2.8.0.

Here’s the solution:

1) Download the wp-config.php. Remember first to backup the original copy before making changes.

2)  Add this line of code at the bottom of the file before the “require_once” line.

define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false );

3) Save the amended wp-config.php and upload back in your web server.

4) Refresh. Voila! You should see your long lost Visual Editor now.

Frankly speaking, it’s quite alloying. Plus, the fact that it inaccurately shows the paid or sponsored search – which I do have to monitor quite closely for the various Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing campaign that I managed.

Most of the forums suggest disabling the Add-on in Firefox. I am sure by now, many of you know it doesn’t remove the search.conduit at all.

This is not until, I found the solution at www.redhotinternetmarketing.com

Here goes…

1) Open your Firefox browser. Make sure you are in Firefox and not IE.

2) At the right hand top corner, at the google search box, click on the drop down arrow,

3) Select ‘Manage Search Engine’

4) A dialogue box showing all the various search engine. You can also delete any search engine that you do not want. Particularly, you should delete google by clicking  ‘Google’, follow by click ‘Remove’. Don’t worry, it’s not google but the annoying search.conduit tool.

5) Quit and restart Firefox, you should be smiling by now
